Privacy policy

Effective date: 4 October 2026

EnigmaTV is an app for Apple TV that lets you watch and manage your own Enigma2 TV receiver. It is built to work without collecting personal data. This policy explains which connections the app makes and why.

No data collection

EnigmaTV has no user accounts and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. The developer does not collect, receive or sell any data about you or how you use the app.

Your receiver on your local network

To find and control your receiver, EnigmaTV connects to devices on your local network:

This traffic stays inside your home network. tvOS asks for your permission (Local Network) before the app can make these connections.

Data stored on your Apple TV

The app stores its settings on your Apple TV: the receiver address, optional receiver login, the last watched channel and your preferences. The timeshift buffer is kept in temporary storage on Apple TV and deleted when you stop watching. Deleting the app removes all of this data.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, EnigmaTV stores the playback position of recordings ("continue watching") in your private iCloud database (CloudKit). Apple stores this data in your iCloud account. The developer cannot read it.

Children

EnigmaTV does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
